Members of the Berkshire Chorus, long-time clients of Dubway, were rehearsing in our mezzanine studio this past week in preparation for the Berkshire Choral Festival next July. Beautiful sounds happened and it's always a joy having them in the studio!
Grammy-Award and Pulitzer Prize winning composer John Luther Adams was in studio this week with Grammy-nominated engineer, Nathaniel Reichman mixing his newest recording, Ilimaq, in 5.1 surround sound. The new piece was a collaboration between JLA and Wilco drummer and composer Glenn Kotche for Cantaloupe Music.
Bernadette Peters was in the studio recently recording a number for "Mozart in the Jungle" with team Warren Odze and Ray Kilday. Chris Camilleri engineered the session.
We've had a busy month with composer Jonathan Reid Gealt working on his fun, new album titled "Whatever I Want It To Be." Produced by James Bilodeau, Matt Hinkley and Jonathan Reid Gealt, the album features jazz, big band, soul, pop, rock and roll, singer-songwriter, and Motown influences.
Everything was tracked here in our mezzanine studio - horns, strings, the band and vocals - by Dubway engineer Chris Abell.

Jonathan Reid Gealt will be celebrating the release of "Whatever I Want It To Be" at the Broadway at Birdland concert series on Sunday, November 29 at 6 p.m.
Lisa O'Hare
The beautiful and talented Lisa O'Hare was in the studio this week singing her heart out! As a stage actress, Lisa O'Hare has played Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady" and the title character of "Mary Poppins" on the West End and UK stage.
You may also recognize her appearance on several prime-time television shows on TNT, ABC and NBC. Most recently, she starred on Broadway in the new musical "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder." It was a pleasure having her in the studio!

Wow! What a day at Dubway Studios! Scott Evan Davis was in studio today with a fantastic lineup of vocalists; Lisa Howard, David Harris, Joshua Dixon, Mikki Sodergren, Jamie Hartmann and the incredibly talented Joshua Colley. Dubway's Chris Camilleri engineered.
Composer and lyricist Scott Evan Davis is recording his new musical at Dubway. Kicking off an upcoming line of Broadway luminaries working Scott's project was award winning Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll and Hyde), recording a new tune with accompanist Andrew Sotomayor. Dubway's Chris Camilleri engineered.

School of Creative & Performing Arts (SOCAPA) has been in the mezz this week recording some summer tunes with engineer Sam Palumbo. Photo caption was a direct request from the group!
Swiss artist Anna Rossenelli and her bandmates are spending a couple of weeks hunkered down at Dubway with producer Simon Kistler, after having toured from San Francisco across the USA.
The ClassiPop quartet Well-Strung just finished their album, tracked and mixed by Dubway's Chris Camilleri. The video is out one day and has 70,000 views - and counting! Great work, guys!

On the heels of her #1 single (Fight Song), Rachel Platten and band have been in the studio this week gearing up for their summer tour. Dubway's Chris Montgomery will be their front of house engineer on tour and we couldn't be more proud. Have a great trip!
Stephanie brought in her crack band to get a version of a new song, in record time, performance totally live, including her wonderful vocals. Engineer Mike Judeh captured the magic.
Sometimes, the whole class just needs to spread out and holler. Erica Greenblatt brought in her Dual Language class (PS 87 William T. Sherman) for some spirited choral blasts.

Courtesy of UMG, Thirdstory was at Dubway working up new material with the writers and band mates of Sam Smith. These three guys can really sing!
Margaret Valentine has been tracking several songs in the Mezzanine, with a stellar band: Marc Shulman, Tony Tino, Gary Seligson and musical director Dan Weiss. Also on hand was Isabella Summers, the "Machine" of Florence and the Machine.
Where it all started - Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash... Al was working with his partners in Acoustic Cafe / SongCraft Presents producing a video featuring Lera Lynn, and the songwriting process. The brand new song, inspired along the road from Nashville to Memphis, was written that day, performed live for an audience that afternoon, and put to bed with a recording at Sun.
