The ClassiPop quartet Well-Strung just finished their album, tracked and mixed by Dubway's Chris Camilleri. The video is out one day and has 70,000 views - and counting! Great work, guys!
Rachel Platten and band gear up for tour
On the heels of her #1 single (Fight Song), Rachel Platten and band have been in the studio this week gearing up for their summer tour. Dubway's Chris Montgomery will be their front of house engineer on tour and we couldn't be more proud. Have a great trip!
Stephanie Nilles and band, recording Live
Stephanie brought in her crack band to get a version of a new song, in record time, performance totally live, including her wonderful vocals. Engineer Mike Judeh captured the magic.
Kids - it's about the Kids!
Sometimes, the whole class just needs to spread out and holler. Erica Greenblatt brought in her Dual Language class (PS 87 William T. Sherman) for some spirited choral blasts.

Late night with Fiona McBain
Fiona McBain (Ollabelle) was in studio recording some smoky reinterpretations of jazz classics with Mike Visceglia (Suzanne Vega/Kinky Boots) on bass and Gary Schreiner (Rick Moranis) on piano and chromatic harmonica.

Thirdstory with Sam Smith's crew
Courtesy of UMG, Thirdstory was at Dubway working up new material with the writers and band mates of Sam Smith. These three guys can really sing!
Mary Valentine and Isa Machine
Margaret Valentine has been tracking several songs in the Mezzanine, with a stellar band: Marc Shulman, Tony Tino, Gary Seligson and musical director Dan Weiss. Also on hand was Isabella Summers, the "Machine" of Florence and the Machine.
Al Houghton at Sun Studios, Memphis
Where it all started - Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash... Al was working with his partners in Acoustic Cafe / SongCraft Presents producing a video featuring Lera Lynn, and the songwriting process. The brand new song, inspired along the road from Nashville to Memphis, was written that day, performed live for an audience that afternoon, and put to bed with a recording at Sun.

Damien Rice, live
Dubway's remote recording team was at it again, this time recording a performance of Damien Rice, the Irish recording artist and producer. After multi-tracking the production, the set was mixed down in Dubway's Sandbox, for subsequent broadcast on "Live from the Artists Den."

Search Party's Meghan Currier brought in actor/comedian Jason Schwartzman to direct a vocalist for their Search Party's production of Amazon's Mozart in the Jungle.
Karen Mason sings
Scott Evan Davis, a songwriter and composer, brought Broadway singer and actress, Karen Mason, into Dubway for a live recording of vocal, piano, and cello. Emmy Award winning Paul Rolnick produced, and our own Adrian Thorstensen engineered.
Vince Bell, Bob Neuwirth, and friends - live at Dubway!
Executive producer David Soldier coordinated an eclectic cast of supporting performers to bring to life a collaboration of the legendary songwriter Vince Bell (Little Feat, Lyle Lovett and Nanci Griffith) and equally legendary producer/musician/performer/painter/actor Bob Neuwirth.
Three days of string sections, continuum, Hammond B3, bass flute, Theremin, flamenco guitar, mandolin, base clarinet, exotic percussion.... Contributors included Laura Cantrell, Rob Schwimmer, David Mansfield, and Satoshi Takeishi. Patrick Derivaz engineered, with Dubway's Sam Palumbo assisting.
Kronos Quartet records in Dubway's Mezzanine
The New York Times produced a video featuring the Kronos Quartet, designed to illuminate life inside a quartet performance. The shoot utilized two video crews - one traditional, and one recording in 3-D. Beautiful performances, lots of insight, and way cool graphics - check out Inside the Quartet. Produced by: Graham Roberts, Jeremy White, Catherine Spangler, Leslye Davis and Shan Carter.
Ana Gasteyer - "I'm Hip" Album
Ana Gasteyer, SNL's alum and funny-lady girl, has released her new album, I'm Hip. Produced by Julian Fleisher and recorded by Mike Judeh at Dubway over the summer, the whole project was a pleasure. Watch the video for the single, One Mint Julip, here - it's a goodie!
School of Creative and Performing Arts
Students from the world over immersed themselves for days in a songwriting and music production program, as part of their NYC experience at SOCAPA. Veteran songwriters Ben Arthur and Kelly McCrae guided the students through the successful, action-packed recordings.
John Luther Adams' "Become Ocean" - 5.1 surround mix at Dubway
On the heels of his 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Become Ocean, composer John Luther Adams enlisted engineer Nathaniel Reichman to take charge of the surround sound for the commercial release on Cantalope Music. Recorded by the Seattle Symphony in their home town, their performance of the NY premier at Carnegie Hall in May was a special treat for us all.
Quinn Lemley and "Burlesque to Broadway"
Quinn Lemley spent a couple of days recording a very live and energetic album of her show, Burlesque to Broadway. It's a full on, hot, and punchy production, music directed by Dan Micciche. Watch for the touring version in the upcoming weeks and months, which, according Vanity Fair, "Delivers the goods!"
