Poyphonic Spree
Dubway’s live remote recording team has been very active this Spring, with The Poyphonic Spree at Webster Hall, and upcoming artist Loren Benjamin at the Highline Ballroom, a Rufus Wainwright performance for Live from the Artists Den, and Gym Class Heroes and The Civil Wars for VH1 Unplugged.

Perhaps best known for her Broadway and international smash hit “Runaways”, Elizabeth Swados and music director and arranger, Kris Kukul, are now hard at work on 3 compositions, “Prince and the Pauper,” “The Bottom Line,” and “Lullaby and Goodnight.”
Empire Girls
Dubway’s location audio team did some work in the field, mixing sound for a reality tv show “Empire Girls” with Ish Entertainment.

Scott Alan recorded finishing touches on his album slated for October release, featuring performances by Broadway luminaries, including Stephanie Block, Marc Broussard, Julia Murney and Kerry Ellis.
Takuya Kuroda
Brilliant and soulful trumpeter, Takuya Kuroda reached #3 on the Jazz Radio charts with the release of his 2011 album, “Edge” and is hoping to continue this success as he begins work on his upcoming album. Takuya recorded his 7 piece band live in the Mezzanine.

Giuseppi Logan and the Mad King Edmund Collective
Giuseppi Logan
Dubway recently had the pleasure of hosting a rare session featuring legendary saxophonist Giuseppi Logan accompanied by the incomparable Jessica Lurie and Ed Pettersen, of the Mad King Edmund collective. The group was building off the work they did here last year and providing some fresh tracks of pure improv with Guiseppi and Jessica switching instruments on the fly, interweaving their performances with the guitar and bass of Ed and bassist Larry Roland. The record is destined for the French record label, Improvising Beings, with a very limited US release in partnership with Split Rock. Kara Walker
Another instance of Dubway’s participation in the visual arts, artist Kara Walker asked Dubway to help exhume the music from a 50 year old reel of tape.
David Hyde Pierce
The Make a Wish Foundation invited David Hyde Pierce (perhaps most renowned for his Niles Crane character on Frasier, but also for his myriad Broadway, film, and television appearances) into Dubway for some participation in their outreach campaign.

Kaleta (the original guitar player for Fela Kuti’s Africa 80s band) was tasked with writing a song in a day, with songster Ben Arthur, while Dubway producers Al Houghton & Mike Crehore produced the same day recording session. Bubble Guppies Season 3
Season 3 of Nickelodeon’s Bubble Guppies was green lighted for production, having garnered viewership to rank it America’s No 1 kid’s TV show. Rhumba handles the music composition and production, and, through Dubway, the dialog as well.

Grammy Award winning Beninoise singer-songwriter and activist, Angélique Kidjo worked on some recording for the new documentary "Fifty Years of Folk: The History of the Newport Folk Festival." Naka Production's documentary showcases the 50 Year Anniversary of the historic festival.

Former Daily Show correspondent Mo Rocca definitely had Dubway engineer Anthony Gibney cracking up while tracking vocal overdubs for the documentary, “Electoral Dysfunction.”

Legendary Blondie keyboardist Jimmy Destri spent some time tracking & mixing several songs, making good use of Dubway’s selection of vintage keys (Hammond B3 with Leslie, Wurlitzer, Juno 106), as well as the grand piano, and augmenting with a few of his own exotic machines. Rhythm tracks included two drum kits facing each other and tracking live in the big room. Big sounds!
